McElroy Mini-Mc Butt Fusion Machine

Designed for small-diameter polyethylene pipe installations, the McElroy Mini-Mc Butt Fusion Machine gives utility crews and contractors a highly portable option for service-line fusion work. At approximately 3.5 lbs. (1.6 kg), the machine is easy to carry, position, and operate in confined areas where larger fusion equipment may not be practical.

The Mini-Mc accommodates PE pipe from 1/2″ CTS to 1″ IPS (16 mm to 32 mm) and is designed for one-person operation. McElroy’s patented Centerline Guidance System helps maintain proper pipe alignment, while serrated jaws and inserts provide a secure grip during the fusion process. Thrust-bearing clamp knobs reduce the effort required to secure and round the pipe, helping streamline repetitive fusion work.

Key Features

1/2" CTS to 1" IPS Fusion Capacity

Designed for butt fusion of small-diameter polyethylene pipe ranging from 1/2" CTS through 1" IPS, or approximately 16 mm through 32 mm.

Compact 3.5-Pound Design

At approximately 3.5 lbs. (1.6 kg), the machine is highly portable and easy to position for field fusion applications.

Single-Operator Functionality

The Mini-Mc is designed to be operated by one technician, making it well suited for small-diameter service-line installations and repairs.

Patented Centerline Guidance System

McElroy's Centerline Guidance System helps maintain proper pipe alignment throughout the fusion process for consistent joint preparation.

Thermostatically Controlled Heater

The compatible heater incorporates thermostatic temperature control to help maintain appropriate fusion temperatures during operation.

Serrated Jaws and Inserts

Serrated gripping surfaces securely hold polyethylene pipe in position and help reduce movement or slippage during fusion.

Thrust-Bearing Clamp Knobs

Clamp knobs incorporate thrust bearings to reduce the force required to clamp and round the pipe.

Rugged Field Construction

Built for underground construction and utility environments, the machine combines a small footprint with construction designed for demanding jobsite conditions.

Benefits

Complete Small-Diameter Fusions More Efficiently

Single-person operation allows a technician to perform service-line fusion tasks without requiring a larger fusion crew for the machine itself.

Maintain Consistent Pipe Alignment

The Centerline Guidance System keeps mating pipe ends properly positioned, helping technicians produce accurate and repeatable butt fusion joints.

Work More Easily in Confined Areas

The small footprint and 3.5-pound weight make the Mini-Mc particularly useful for restricted utility installations and other locations where space is limited.

Reduce Operator Effort

Thrust-bearing clamp knobs require less force when securing and rounding pipe, helping reduce operator fatigue during repetitive service-line work.

Improve Jobsite Mobility

Lightweight construction simplifies transportation between fusion locations and allows technicians to quickly reposition the machine as work progresses.

Get Dependable Performance in the Field

Rugged construction allows the machine to withstand the conditions common to underground construction, gas distribution, water utility, and HDPE installation projects.
